Does anyone know how to change the view of an ftp site? I can only get the ftp site displaying as a list of links, but I want to display as a folder view or list view like I had old computer. I'm using windows vista now and can't work out where to go to change it.

Go into windows explorer, or whatever its called in vista, go to your address bar, and type in the ftp site their. THat will bring it up in a folderview.

I've been trying that and it's not working. Unless it's supposed to be shown as a list of links, which I don't think it is, because my friend can get onto it fine with his xp computer.

In the IE of yore, there was an 'enable simple view for FTP sites' option somewhere in internet options. Try looking for something similar in your present browser.

before I had a client, I set my friends' ftp sites up in my network places and it worked like a system of folders to me. Then if I wanted to click on it, I went into my network places and hit enter on each ftp. Now I have a client and it works pretty well.

this is what you do for xp.
you open up internet explorer, go in to tools then internet options, control tab until you hear advanced settings, enter on the restore defaults button, after a few seconds a big list is shown, arrow down about 10 times until you hear enable folder view for ftp sights, this should be checked if you want it as a folder view.
i hope this helps
